The Small Home Based Business For Philanthropists
The Small Home Based Business
It is an amazing feeling knowing that you're making a difference in the world. With the media painting such a doom and gloom picture of the economy, more and more people losing their jobs and feeling powerless to help themselves let alone anyone else, its the last thing on most peoples minds. I had been looking around for a business for a while, I had looked into franchising and conventional businesses but I didn't have the funds needed to get into a typical bricks and mortar business. I am very thankful for that now as I would no doubt be snowed under with staffing issues, overheads and all sorts of pressures. The trouble was, I didn't want to do just anything to make a dollar.. I really wanted to feel passionate about what I was doing and have a reason to get out of bed in the morning. I also wanted to work with like-minded and positive people whom I could learn from.
Opportunity To Give
Then I found it - a FaceBook friend mentioned something about a new business he'd just got involved in and I decided to check it out. I didn't hold out much hope that it would be the 'one' as I'd already checked out about 30 'opportunities' beforehand. I checked it out and instantly knew that it was for me... I could combine my passion for the Environment with my desire to create a new improved lifestyle from home. It also meant that I'd be providing clean water for those who don't have it - for 10 years! Great feeling.
Perhaps the most remarkable thing is that the community help and support each other, and I can honestly say that I have and still am receiving the best sales, marketing and advertising training I have ever received. ( I was in sales and marketing jobs for 18 years).
The compensation plan here is out of this world. Imagine the best of direct sales -high payout immediately, combined with recurring, residual income! There is nothing else around like it. With an entry point into the business of $50, this is really a business opportunity for everyone. You can make big money in your first year, unlike traditional MLM companies where it may take a few years to build up to even a low 6 figure income.
Build this business up and you can sell it after 2 years or pass it on to your kids. It really is the business of the 21st Century, and its available to everyone. All you need is a desire to take control of your life, a willingness to learn, be coachable and persistent. Work From Home
There is a growing trend in people wanting to find work from home. There are a number of factors which contribute towards this trend. I will discuss a few of them here.
It is becoming increasingly difficult to make money from a regular job because the economic crisis has caused many businesses to downsize and lay people off. Those that are still operating are really struggling to survive so every employee has a greater load of work and this can mean putting in longer hours with even less pay.
Another reason for people wanting to work from home is that they simply want to take control of their situation and be in the drivers seat. Working from home has its pro's and con's. Friends can think that its OK to drop in on you whenever they feel like it not taking your business seriously. This can be distracting and annoying. Also if you have young children you really need somewhere in the home where you can work in a quiet place, or can do the work when they are in bed.
Personally I love having a home business, but it does require a lot of discipline and commitment. You need to be strong and clear about what you need to achieve each day otherwise another week has flown by without you moving forward.
There are many opportunities available and it can be difficult knowing which one to chose. It's a good idea to write down what you think your strengths are , what you are passionate about and what you can imagine yourself doing.
Good luck with making the transition and finding an opportunity to work from home.

Can Small Business Be Philanthropic?
We read about the big guns such as Bill Gates giving 50% of their profits away to charitable causes and know instinctively that its the right thing to do. We may even think that they are obliged to donate because they have so much money and that it's a natural progression and they should want to do it. Bill is encouraging his wealthy mates to do the same.
But do we have to be really seriously wealthy to feel like we should be helping others or the environment in some way?
I actually think that many of us in business would like to contribute but because we are so caught up in day to day running of our companies and in a lot of cases just trying to keep our heads above water, it is something that just gets pushed to the end of the list of things to do.
We may also feel that because of limited funds we can't really do anything to make an impact.
The fact is we can make a big difference with a relatively small contribution. For example a donation of $10 will provide clean water for 4500 people for 10 years! How amazing is that.
A business that has this Philanthropic intention at its core is GiveOpp. This business, still in its infancy has committed to giving 80% of their profits to Environmental and Humanitarian Projects around the world. GiveOpp is changing the way the world does business, leading by example and demonstrates how average people can have a positive impact on the world around them whilst making a very good lifestyle for themselves.
